All the teams for Round 7 in the rebel VFLW.

Collingwood has rolled out some of its big guns for its daunting interstate trip to take on Sydney in the Swans’ last rebel VFLW appearance for the season.

The Magpies have called up AFLW stars Sabrina Frederick, Sarah Livingstone, Ruby Schleicher, Sarah Rowe, Lauren Brazzale and Lauren Butler in a bid to match the powerhouse Swans team that has fielded between 19 and 21 AFLW players throughout their guest stint in the competition.

Frederick hasn’t played at this level since 2022, Livingstone, Rowe and Butler since 2021 and Schleicher since way back in 2019, while Brazzale played two weeks ago in what was her first VFLW appearance in two years.

On the downside, the Magpies have lost young small Frances Walsh for the season with an ankle injury after she had previously played every game in her debut year.

Sydney has rested superstar Chloe Molloy and fellow midfielder Aimee Whelan, while Paris McCarthy is out with a shoulder injury, but Sofia Hurley comes back in and Swans Academy teenagers Emma Juneja and Ellie Veerhuis will get a chance to test themselves at the second highest level.

Box Hill Hawks are looking to bounce back from their big loss to the Swans, with AFLW captain Tilly Lucas-Rodd among five Hawthorn players called in to make their first VFLW appearances of the year against Western Bulldogs at Mission Whitten Oval.

It will be Lucas-Rodd’s first game at this level since crossing from St Kilda, while Bridget Deed, Laura Elliott and pre-draft selection Sophie Butterworth will also suit up, with only tall forward Bridie Hipwell being rested.

Ellie Blackburn will again play for the Bulldogs, with Mua Laloifi playing her first VFLW game since her previous stint at Bulldogs in 2019. Geelong recruit Analea McKee will debut in the red, white and blue, with Jess Fitzgerald in for the first time since 2021 and AFLW Queenslander Jazmyn Smith to make her debut.

Port Melbourne regains premiership players Emily Harley, Liv Barton, Beth Wilson and 50th gamer Fed Frew for its trip to Genis Steel Oval to take on Darebin on Saturday.

The Borough has dropped its past three games and will be desperate to get back on track, with Cerberus’ Meg Buchanan selected to debut, but Richmond-listed duo Maddie Shevlin and Jemima Woods won’t play and injuries have claimed Eloise Ashley-Cooper and Kate Adams.

The Falcons have lost co-captain Caitlin Bunker, but will regain fellow ex-Magpie Katie Lee, while Westbourne product Paige Trajkovski will make her debut.

In-form Williamstown will be hoping to buck history when it takes on Casey Demons at Casey Fields on Sunday.

The Seagulls have not beaten the Demons in five previous attempts – all of which were played at DSV Stadium – but will be confident after back-to-back wins over Western Bulldogs and Darebin, with Bridie Kennedy in for her first game of the year and Ash Thorneycroft and Chloe Bain returning from a week out.

The Demons upset North Melbourne a few weeks ago when they had never lost to the Roos and will be tough to toss after strong wins over the Saints and Port in the past three weeks.

Melbourne pair Ryleigh Wotherspoon and Georgia Campbell return alongside experienced trio Sammie Johnson, Sophie Casey and Jo Lin and Vermont debutant Charlotte Brewer.

North Melbourne entered the season as one of the flag favourites but enters Sunday’s clash with Southern Saints at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval struggling to stay in touch after four consecutive losses.

The Kangaroos have reacted according at selection with Nic Hales rushed back from injury, Margie Purcell in for her first game of the and Tasmanian Abbie Hoiberg-Cox named to debut, while co-captain Sarah King and key player Annabel Scott are among those to have been dropped alongside the injured Meagan Kiely.

The Saints have two debutants in Queensland teen Ash Russell and Irish Gaelic star Aine Bennett, with St Kilda-listed Nat Plane out and Piper Phelan hurting her back.

Geelong’s hopes of continuing its stunning run of form have received a significant boost with Carlton sidelining its AFLW talent for their clash at IKON Park.

The Blues easily accounted for the Cats in Round 1 but the Cats’ only defeat in the past month has been to GWS and they were super impressive in thrashing North Melbourne last week.

And with Carlton withdrawing Darcy Vescio, Lily Goss, Keeley Sherar, Yasmin Duursma, Gen Lawson-Tavan, Mia Austin and Meg Robertson, it means the Blues will unveil three debutants and a young recruit in a new-look line-up.

Northern Knights trio Hannah Scott (Montmorency), Zoe Hargreaves (Fitzroy) and Holly Ridewood (Heidelberg) will all play their first VFL games, while their teammate Evie Lee (Wallan) will wear Navy Blue for the first time after three games as top-up for Darebin in 2023.

By contrast, the Cats have recalled Abbey McDonald, who was close to best afield in a losing cause in Round 1, while Sandhurst product Piper Dunlop will make her debut as Cheryl de Groot and Poppy Schaap go out with injury.

Essendon’s hopes of challenging GWS at Blacktown International Sports Park have been diminished with Amelia Radford, Ellyse Gamble, Georgia Clarke and Emily Gough not making the trip, while Sophie Molan has also been rested and Jayda Richardson is unwell.

The Giants have rested young superstar Zarlie Goldsworthy and lost Claire Ransom to a one-game suspension but they have recalled star Mikayla Pauga along with Courtney Murphy.

All matches in the 2024 rebel VFLW season will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.
